Aria Hotel Budapest: A Stunning Location
Let’s start with the Aria Hotel Budapest’s unbeatable location.
Located literally next door to St. Stephen’s Basilica in the heart of Budapest, the Aria Hotel offers unforgettable views of the beautiful church and the rest of the city from the High Note SkyBar — just one of the many reasons the Aria Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Budapest, Hungary.
The hotel is also perfectly centrally located near many of Budapest’s top attractions and is a breeze to reach on public transport at Deák Ferenc ter.
High Note SkyBar
The view of Budapest and St. Stephen’s Basilica from the High Note SkyBar is undoubtedly one of the highlights of this luxury Budapest boutique hotel. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better place to enjoy a cocktail while soaking up views of Budapest than this. I don’t think it is possible to have a closer view of the Basilica anywhere in the city — there are so many really pinch-me views here!
A Luxury Budapest Boutique Hotel with a Musical Theme
Aria Hotel is a luxury Budapest boutique hotel with a design and theme inspired by the world of music.
Each of the four wings of the hotel is dedicated to a different musical genre: classical, contemporary, jazz, and opera. Each and every room at the Aria Hotel is unique and dedicated to a different musical artist. Ours was the Michael Jackson room in the contemporary wing and featured a fun pop art portrait of the King of Pop above the bed.
The hotel carries out designer Zoltan Varro’s vision to recreate the luxury of a historic Hungarian palace while embracing visitors into the warmth and comfort of a modern residence. Walking into the beautiful central atrium/lobby of the hotel, you’re welcomed into an elegant musical world.
The atrium was our absolute favorite place to hang out at this luxury Budapest boutique hotel. It’s not just the elegant, jazzy atmosphere — it’s also where Aria spoils its guests with a daily wine-and-cheese event for its guests.
Complimentary Wine & Cheese Happy Hour
Each afternoon between 4 and 6 pm, guests are treated to local and international wines and cheeses in the hotel’s atrium, absolutely complimentary.
We can’t think of a better way to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing in Budapest, and thoroughly enjoyed both afternoons we spent here!
Amenities at Aria
As a 5-star luxury Budapest boutique hotel, the Aria hotel offers guests lots of amenities to enhance their stay. Every morning, we enjoyed a lavish complimentary breakfast buffet in the lobby. The quality of the food was amazing, including delicious artisanal meats, smoked salmon, cheese, croissants, coffee and tea, and even bubbles.
You can also order eggs any way you’d like fresh from the kitchen.
Harmony Spa
The Harmony Spa in the basement of the Aria hotel is a perfect way to enjoy the spa culture of Hungary without leaving the comfort of your luxury Budapest boutique hotel. The spa features a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, steam room, and Finnish sauna. There’s also an exercise room with free weights and cardio machines for guests. While we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the spa, it certainly looks like another reason to pick Aria if you’re trying to figure out where to stay in Budapest, Hungary.
Cafe Liszt
At Cafe Liszt, you can enjoy a nice coffee treat or a nice dinner in the company of the many signatures on the walls of celebrities, including Will Smith and Placido Domingo, who have dined here. We enjoyed deliciously strong Irish coffees and the tastiest artisan macarons here before we checked out of Aria (and also loved the blue decor!).
Our Stay at Aria Budapest
We recently enjoyed a two-night stay at the Aria Budapest— from the minute we stepped into the beautiful Music Garden, we were swept away by Aria’s elegant symphony.
Our spacious room, the Michael Jackson room, was a perfect mix of classic elegance, modern cheekiness, and color. We’ve become big fans of bathtubs in hotel rooms, so we made heavy use of the bathtub here. We loved that the bathtub was integrated into the room and wasn’t sequestered away in the bathroom.
The bed was huge and comfortable, and we had lots of fun watching movies from Aria’s DVD collection on the in-room TV. Another highlight of the room is the private balcony facing the beautiful interior courtyard of the hotel and the Music Garden. I’m a coffee drinker, so I loved using the Nespresso machine in the room!
We had a great time hanging out one afternoon at the High Note SkyBar, feeling super high-class sipping our drinks while taking in the stunning views of Budapest from the rooftop.
We can’t think of a better start to the day than the breakfast that Aria offers its guests. We always love a breakfast buffet, but there was something special about enjoying breakfast in the beautifully cavernous Music Garden. Also, the quality of the food Aria offered was top-notch.
The Music Garden also provided us with our other favorite experience at this luxury Budapest boutique hotel. The daily complimentary afternoon wine and cheese for guests is one of our favorite experiences we’ve had in any hotel, anywhere. Sipping on Hungarian wine and munching on artisanal ham was really one of those pinch-me moments that we seek while traveling.
Budapest Boutique Hotel: Final Thoughts
For us, the breakfast and the complimentary wine and cheese exemplify the commitment to service, quality, and detail that guests staying at this luxury Budapest boutique hotel can expect. We loved that Aria Budapest definitely brings a fun twist to the world of luxury.
