While it occupies a building dating back to the mid-1800s, Blend Hotel is definitely not antique. The hotel has been updated in a sleek retro-modern style that retains the building’s historic exterior. Like the rest of Athens, Blend Hotel presents itself as a seamless blend of old and new.
Each of the hotel’s 24 rooms and suites are styled in the chic, minimal midcentury style of the hotel. Blend’s suites have balconies with views over the streets of Athens, and some suites even have stunning Acropolis views.
As one of the best boutique hotels in Athens, Blend Hotel doesn’t feel generic and boring. The whole hotel is full of warmth, quirkiness, and personal touches that really brought a special touch to our stay.
Fabulous Bathroom
When you travel a lot, you really come to appreciate a CLEAN, MODERN BATHROOM! Blend’s bathroom was the best we’d had in a long time, with a floor-to-ceiling enclosed shower, a new toilet, and high quality toiletries that were replenished every day we needed them.
Just look at that bathroom–absolutely gorgeous!
Outstanding Service
The amazing personal service at Blend Hotel is another reason it’s one of the best hotels in Athens. From the minute we stepped in the door, we were swept away by the outstanding hospitality of Maria at the front desk. Immediately, she warmly welcomed us to the hotel and helped us with absolutely everything we needed to know about the hotel and the neighborhood.
We can’t speak highly enough about Maria — she’s seriously one of the best hospitality workers we’ve ever come across! Maria was amazingly personable and professional and went out of her way to make sure we felt taken care of.
Everyone else that we met at Blend Hotel also exemplifies the warm, high level of service you’d expect from one of the best places to stay in Athens!
Complimentary Breakfast
A good breakfast is so important to have while traveling, and Blend Hotel takes care of their guests with a complimentary breakfast at Folk Restaurant.
Every morning, we started the day off right with a selection of delicious Greek yogurt, pastries, eggs, local cheeses, and meats. And don’t forget the fresh orange juice and made-to-order coffee (YASSS HONEY)!
In addition to breakfast and dinner, Folk Restaurant also offers all-day brunch, to guests and the general public alike.
Folk Restaurant at Blend Hotel
It’s not just service and comfort that Blend Hotel excels at. Yet another reason Blend Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Athens is the Folk Restaurant. Folk is a youthful fusion eatery that offers guests tasty international dishes.
Everything that we had at Folk was delicious, and it’s all made with quality Greek produce. We celebrated Christmas with a special dinner at the restaurant, and really enjoyed the eclectic international flavors that Folk offers.
Everything was DELECTABLE, but our favorites were the chicken tikka bowl and the pappardelle with caramelized onions. More, please!
Why Blend is the Best Boutique Hotel in Athens
After a long travel day from Malta to Athens, we walked into Blend Hotel and immediately felt so comfortable and right at home! A huge reason for this was because of Maria at the front desk.
As we mentioned, Maria went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and taken care of.
As a guest in a hotel, you want to feel that there’s nothing you have to worry or stress about. Thank you, Maria, for making sure that everything was A+ for our stay at Blend!
When we got up to our room the first thing we thought was that we’d be sad to leave the hotel. Our room was so comfortable, cute, and clean — why would we want to leave?
Even though it was winter, we still spent lots of time enjoying the Greek sun from our balcony. It was a perfect place to watch the buzzing street life of Athens. We were so happy that we were smack dab in best area in Athens to stay, and we could do so without leaving the comfort of the hotel.
Best Place to Stay in Athens, Greece: Final Thoughts
Blend Hotel definitely showed us why it’s in the best location to stay in Athens. There were so many things to love! Blend Hotel was a wonderful location for us to explore some of Athens’s most lively neighborhoods on foot. We loved how we could just step out of the doors of the hotel and immediately be immersed in the busy streets of Athens.
We were so comfortable at Blend Hotel, and it was a cozy space for us to recharge our batteries after a busy trip to Malta.
