Having the right travel outfits goes a long way towards ensuring comfort, functionality, and of course, a healthy dose of style while enjoying the wonders of the world. But sheer comfort is not enough for your travel outfits: if that were true, sweatpants would be enough, but sweatpants are bulky and one-note, making them a poor choice for compact travel in a variety of style settings. To satisfy the rigors of everyday adventure and a traveling lifestyle, men and women both need to know the best travel outfits for long flights that are stylish, comfortable, versatile and practical. Making the best travel outfits we’ve found yet, Anatomie makes luxury travel clothes that hit all these notes: feeling great, looking great, and aiding a lifestyle of movement.

We tested these fabulous Anatomie travel outfits out during our latest trip to Myanmar, and found them to be the best travel outfits for long flights, and perfect for a variety of other situations, from ruggedly traversing the dusty, temple-covered landscape of Bagan on a motorbike to walking the local street markets of Yangon in the rain, and looking sophisticated during our high-end escape on a lake resort. With their ability to work in a wide-range of travel situations while taking up very little space in your luggage, Anatomie travel clothes are the ultimate meeting of fashion and functionality.

Wearing Anatomie Travel Outfits in Myanmar

Anatomie was kind enough to send us a few new travel outfits that we were ecstatic to wear during our adventures in Myanmar, and on our flights from Osaka to Bangkok, onwards to Myanmar, then to Kuala Lumpur, and, finally, to Beijing. These Anatomie pieces have quickly cemented themselves as our best travel outfits for long flights, as well as for our Burmese excursions from the city of Yangon, to Bagan, and Inle Lake.

Here are the pieces used for our Anatomie travel outfits, and our thoughts on each of them after testing them out! If anything catches your eye, don’t place an order without using the promo code NOMAD15 to get 15% off your purchase!

In addition to the pieces described below, Lauren also received a few easy breezy flattering-cut women’s T-shirts that did wonders in completing each look, and a few packing cubes that have helped keep our backpacks organized!

Kenya Safari Jacket

This fashion-forward update on the safari jacket is sleek and practical, as well as being super cute! The edgy hardware on the Kenya Safari jacket is a wonderful detail that elevates the piece, making it just as appropriate for our stay at the Four Seasons Kyoto as it was for our 12-hour overnight bus ride from Inle Lake to Bagan in Myanmar. Like all Anatomie clothes, this jacket is incredibly lightweight and wrinkle-free: it easily folds up for storage, making it perfect for those looking for what to wear on an airplane to stay warm. With plenty of pockets (including handy zipper-closed pockets for easily-accessible cash or ID’s) Lauren’s phone or wallet is always handy, which is a huge plus for any travel outfit.

MERIKA Windbreaker

This best-selling Merika windbreaker is a favorite of Anatomie customers, and we can see why! We love that it’s both fashionable and functional, which is Anatomie’s bottom line. The lightweight, durable, and water-resistant jacket is very customizable, featuring a detachable hood, an adjustable collar/neck, and sleeves that can be rolled up and snapped closed. It can also be cinched in at the waist for that cute shape we all need to elevate our mundane tourist attire. Lauren found it perfect for those not-so-sunny days in Yangon, and for covering her shoulders when visiting the Burmese-revered Shwedagon Pagoda.

KATE Skinny Cargo Pant

If you want to know what to wear on an airplane, these chic and lightweight pocket-plenty Kate Skinny Cargo pants have quickly become a part of Lauren’s favorite travel outfits for long flights (and everyday adventures). The stretchy and breathable fabric feels comfortable for long hours of wear, whether in the dusty heat of Bagan, Myanmar, or the wet streets of Yangon.

These pants are not just Lauren’s favorite travel pants, but her new favorite pants for every day of the year for their flattering fit, comfortable feel, and ample pocket storage, with pockets big enough to hold her giant iPhone 6s Plus, passport, wallets, sunglasses, and more, without looking frumpy or unflattering.

LUISA women’s pants

These navy skinny-cut, wrinkle-resistant Luisa pants are another fabulous Anatomie addition to Lauren’s travel outfit stash. These pants have the same lightweight and breathable feel, perfect if you want to know what to wear on a long flight, but without the many pockets, making them a perfect alternative choice of pants if you want a sleeker, more streamlined look. While the skinny cargo pants were Lauren’s choice for Bagan’s more adventurous pagoda-exploring activities, Lauren adored the Luisa pants for wandering around our river-view resort or the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel in Yangon.

ALESSIO Men’s pants

Arguably even more than for women, the best travel outfits for men aren’t complete without a good pair of travel pants. These Alessio pants from Anatomie hit all the requirements for my favorite travel pants: lightweight, durable, and breathable (men tend to sweat more than women, remember!). I can’t believe how lightweight they are: they fold up into almost nothing, which is a wonder if you don’t know how to pack clothes for travel! I’m used to heavy-weight denim, and found these pants to be a breath of fresh air. They don’t feel like an inconvenience to wear at all, even in the summer heat of Myanmar, like other kinds of pants do while traveling.

These Alessio pants also dry fast, which is a big plus when traveling to rainy areas. I wish I had found these pants years ago! They are a huge asset to my wardrobe of travel outfits, and I’m excited to try them out in an even greater variety of situations.

The lightweight, comfortable, and wrinkle-free design of all Anatomie clothes gives them a leg up over travel outfits, and the fact that they’re so incredibly stylish is just a bonus.
