California Eats Los Angeles USA

15 Dope Places to Eat in LA (Especially If You’re Meat-Free!)

A list of the best places to eat in LA (from San Fernando Valley to West LA), full of flavor and vegetarian, vegan, and pescatarian options for your Los Angeles trip! A guide to local favorite Los Angeles restaurants, including Mexican, Indian, Indonesian, Filipino, Vietnamese, and Ethiopian food in LA!

The glorious melting pot of the culturally diverse Los Angeles brings a ton of incredible food choices with it. While writing my last LA post, Why I Miss Los Angeles (Because It’s F***ing Awesome), and reminiscing through my ancient Los Angeles Instagram posts, I began to remember this incredible magnitude of dope places to eat in LA. Sure, the kale-and-quinoa story is a tale told all across the metropolis, but it’s hardly the sole culinary infatuation your stomach can enjoy in this multi-cultural city. And let me clarify—this isn’t a “best restaurants in Los Angeles, Michelin star edition” post. We’re talking good-for-the-soul, flavorful and full of zest foods from places to eat in LA (from the Valley to the Westside) to carry you through those aimless, windows-wide, music-flying car drives down Topanga Canyon, those hangover-plagued days that may or may not be worth it, those early mornings, those late nights, or whatever other variety of venture Los Angeles has in for you. And if you’re vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, or whatever else, LA’s got something for you. So read on, plan what delectable treat you’ll bestow upon your lucky tummy today, and remember—for the sake of your Instagram—to charge your damn phone.

LA Transportation

And remember, Los Angeles is notorious for its less-than-stellar public transportation, so you’re DEFINITELY going to want to rent a car or take an Uber (use my link or promo code laurenw27403ui to get a FREE RIDE).

Discounts to LA Restaurants

We also highly recommend checking out the ‘Food & Drink’ category of the current Groupon Los Angeles deals,  as we’ve managed to get some great discounts to some of these specific restaurants (and many many others) through Groupon! If you’re traveling to LA, we recommend checking out these local LA deals anyway, as they have discounts on things like amusement parks, whale-watching, sporting events, concerts, and tons more.

*Note: I was a vegetarian for 10 years, and am a recent convert to pescatarianism, so most of these eateries will have vegetarian-friendly options, and all will have pescatarian options!

I admit, I only clicked on this post because of the doughnut pictures, but I am vegetarian, so this actually is a really useful list if I ever find myself in LA. Though my first stop would obviously be to get ALL those doughnuts!
