Bursting onto the scene with an exciting concept—a transportive 1920s-themed hotel built onto a glamorous boat—the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel is the most unique hotel in Yangon ushered in by the recent development of Myanmar tourism.
The hotel’s location is perfect for those looking to be immersed in the authentic local experience of Yangon with rows and rows of lively, colorful markets within walking distance, and a sparkling golden pagoda within view of the ship. Exploring the vibrant local flavor around the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel is one of our favorite things to do in Yangon.
But it is the boat itself that transports guests to another era—one of swanky, classic elegance, complete with a movie theater, jacuzzi, spa, bars, and restaurants (with included breakfast) on-board. Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel Yangon
Its exciting authentic setting by the docks of the Yangon River makes the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel perfect for those seeking to experience the authenticity of a place (and not merely be surrounded by tourists). Docked just around the corner from the Botahtaung Pagoda in the Yangon River, the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel is unique for more than its location, however. This yacht hotel takes the notion of luxury and looks at it through a well-executed vintage 1920s theme that makes it unlike any hotel we’ve ever seen.
A 1920s Vintage Take on Luxury
What jazzes us most about the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel in Yangon? The theme, of course! Stepping on-board the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel takes you into a world of 1920s glamour and luxury. The entire Yangon accommodation is decorated in a classical vintage 1920s style. Everything from the telephones to the bathtubs, to the lighting in this Yangon hotel transports you to a swanky world of the past—the Titanic-lovers in us were very keen!
A Comfortable Yangon Hotel Experience
This Yangon hotel has much to offer for any Myanmar travel experience. With its 104 guestrooms, 2 conference rooms, 2 restaurants and bars, a wellness center/spa, and theater, the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel serves the needs of any traveler at their Yangon hotel. The hotel also offers the largest hotel car park of any hotels in Yangon, Myanmar with a capacity of 300 cars.
Rooms at Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel Yangon
Staying at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel Yangon affords guests the unique experience of enjoying the privacy and exclusivity of a private yacht while also relishing in the comfort provided by a quality Yangon hotel. All rooms at this Yangon accommodation are furnished with 1920s style vintage decor, while also offering guests all modern conveniences.
Each room has a city or river view from porthole windows, making the hotel a perfect choice for where to stay in Yangon. We had the chance to experience the Deluxe Room with Balcony, as well as the June Bay Suite during our Yangon hotel stay, and found them both to be quite comfortable!
The Deluxe Room with Balcony was far more spacious than any room I’ve ever seen on a ship before, which was a very pleasant surprise. The balcony was also quite enjoyable, offering a taste of local Yangon right outside the door of our room! We enjoyed our morning tea and coffee, provided by the hotel, on our balcony, watching to local boats go by and waving to the friendly children.
As lovely as the Deluxe Room with Balcony was, the June Bay Suite was absolutely spectacular. Offering everything in the Deluxe Room but in a space at least twice the size, the June Bay Suite also offers a phenomenal private terrace, complete with a secluded private outdoor bathtub, loungers, and dining area. We were amazed by the size of this exclusive deck!
The suite also has a lovely sofa sitting area to enjoy the flat-screen television, a closed off bedroom area, and not one, but two bathrooms.
The larger bathroom has a very high-tech, auto-opening toilet, a panoramic view of the river, and a private sauna. We were very impressed!
Dining On-Board the Yacht
You can dine in the comfort of this Yangon hotel at one of two restaurants on board. The 1920s Industrial Restaurant, named to recall the Burmese Industrial Revolution of that time period, serves traditional European food in a vintage setting. Overlooking the panorama of the Yangon River, the Pirate Restaurant at this hotel in Yangon serves delicious and authentic Indian and Burmese dishes.
The Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel in Yangon has two bars on site. The Robinson Crusoe bar (part of Pirate Restaurant), and the Victoria Bar and Lounge offer full-service bars with a wide range of cocktails and liquors to imbibe at this Yangon hotel. The Victoria Bar is particularly noted for its 1920s ambiance and offers a few tasty snacks to accompany your drinks while relaxing in your hotel in Yangon.
Wellness Center at Your Hotel in Yangon
The Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel in Yangon offers a full range of massage and other spa treatments at its Wellness Center, conveniently located onboard. The spa even features a jacuzzi on deck for that extra touch of luxury for your hotel in Myanmar Yangon experience.
Special Events at Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel
The Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel is primed to host special events, from weddings to business conferences. Two large conference meeting rooms are available for rent, as well as a theater which can be rented for catered special events in this floating hotel in Yangon.
Chauffer for Myanmar Travel Itinerary
As if staying on a luxury yacht isn’t enough, this Yangon hotel can also arrange chauffer services for your Myanmar travel. You can even choose to have a Rolls Royce pick you up from the airport and drive you around Yangon for an unmatched luxury Myanmar tourism experience. If you’re looking for more laid-back ideas for your Myanmar trip, we recommend this Myanmar travel itinerary.
Staying at the Most Unique Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar
Right from the moment we stepped onto the gangplank at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel, we were incredibly impressed by the warm hospitality of the staff of our hotel in Yangon. They allowed us to check in extremely early, which we were incredibly grateful for. We were impressed by the vintage luxury feel of the yacht, especially the main staircase. This hotel in Yangon is really so unique compared to other hotels in Myanmar! The staircase is so transportive to the glamour of the 1920s, and it was a blast any time I had the pleasure of walking up or down it.
We loved the quirky decor of the rooms at Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel in Yangon. We had never used an antique style phone before, and it was lots of fun being shown how to use it at this Yangon hotel. The rooms are full of so many little details, from the furniture to the quill pen, that add immensely to the fantasy of 1920s glamour. We also enjoyed watching the boats cruise by on the Yangon River from our window and balcony at this floating hotel in Yangon.
The breakfast at Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel was my favorite of any other hotels in Myanmar. Each morning we were greeted with a feast of delicious Indian and Myanmar dishes, as well as Western fare and fresh fruit. Breakfast was made even better by enjoying it in the ambience of the yacht’s dining room.
Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel Yangon: Glamour For a Value
As the only floating hotel in Myanmar, the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel Yangon is committed to creating unique experience for its guests, and goes above and beyond in meeting each and every need.
This hotel in Yangon is an incredible value when compared to Bagan hotels, and you get so much for what you pay for.
We found the hotel to be affordable, and a nice treat when backpacking in Myanmar.
The vintage theme is fun to be immersed in, and is implemented well throughout the whole yacht. We enjoyed every moment we spent on this floating hotel in Yangon at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel, and were truly sad to leave. Visiting the local street food markets near the yacht hotel were, for us, one of the best things to do in Yangon. A stay at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel is a standout Myanmar travel experience, even as the country’s tourism blossoms with so many things to do in Mandalay, ruins to walk amongst or fly above in a hot air balloon in Bagan, river villages is Inle, and, of course, Yangon. If you want a unique experience for where to stay in Yangon (and want to feel like Jack and Rose for a few nights), look no further than the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel. It will definitely provide an experience unlike any other Myanmar hotels. Book your stay with Vintage Luxury Yacht hotel with this link to get discounted prices!

at 6:52 pmI’ve stayed in a Boat Hotel – Botel – in Amsterdam which looks similar from the outside, but is a whole lot different inside. That one caters to mostly backpacker, weekend tripper, or business clients, but this is on a whole different luxurious level altogether. Have always loved the idea of staying on a boat, even if it is not moving, and this really adds to the charm of a perfect vacation. I also love everything vintage, so that’s an added bonus.
Yangon Travel Guide - HAPPY FROG TRAVELS
at 3:04 am[…] The best area to stay in Yangon by far is the city center. Although hotels outside of the center often have gardens and include a lot of adjacent space, there are no amenities in their close vicinity, which means that guests would have to dine at the hotel. Central hotel prices are a bit higher, the surrounding is dirtier and noisier, but the shopping, dining, services and cultural offer are considerably better. There are several midrange hotels near the city hall, while budget hotels and pensions are close to the Pazundaung canal, at the edge of the old city. For an unforgettable experience in Yangon check this luxury yacht hotel. […]
